Gibraltar is a British dependency at the southernmost tip of the Iberian Peninsula, easily reached in just over 2 hours (flying time) from London, Bristol or Manchester airports. The post is based at the new state of the art St Bernard’s Hospital* built 10 years ago, located by the waterfront, overlooking the straits of Gibraltar and Northern Africa. The area is perfect for those wishing to explore Southern Spain, Portugal and North Africa.

The Gibraltar Health Service is organised and modelled on UK NHS and follows traditions of British medical practice.  Upon commencement of the post, applicants must be registered with the UK General Medicine Council.

Applications are invited for the above mentioned post, where the position will be vacant as from February 2018; however, the date of commencement will be dependent on the successful candidate’s timespan for availability to commence employment.  This appointment will be for a period of 1year initially, renewable by mutual agreement.

The total value of salary package is up to £90,000. This is dependent on years of reckonable service as a Senior House Officer or equivalent and inclusive of an out of hours supplement. Income tax rates in Gibraltar compare very favourably with the European average.  Economy Class air-fares are payable in full and rent free accommodation is provided, within a maximum capped budget.

Non-EU nationals should note that a Schengen Visa is required in order to be able to transit through Europe. This is obtained from the applicant’s place of residence. Please note that Schengen Visas cannot be obtained through Gibraltar.
